– DURABLE POWERS OF ATTORNEY –

Like a Will, a Power of Attorney is an essential document for estate-planning purposes. Molavoque Law prepares and reviews Durable Powers of Attorney and Healthcare Powers of Attorney/Advance Health Care Declarations or “Living Wills.” A Durable Power of Attorney is a legal document that enables you to authorize another individual to act and make decisions on your behalf, pursuant to your specifications, in the event you become physically and/or mentally unable to handle your affairs. While a Will takes effect upon your death, a Power of Attorney is implemented during your lifetime to ensure your financial responsibilities and healthcare directives are fulfilled.

When creating a Power of Attorney, it is important to seek professional legal advice to ensure you understand the breadth of its application, and that it is drafted and valid pursuant to Pennsylvania law to protect your best interests. A valid Durable Power of Attorney prevents your family from having to go to court to have a guardian appointed for you if you become incapacitated. Knowledgeable about the laws governing these critical documents, Molavoque Law provides comprehensive, customized legal counsel to empower you to control your affairs in the event you become unable to do so. Contact Kristin A. Molavoque, Esquire for a consultation about or to obtain a Power of Attorney.
